At the Seaside. Written by Laura.Comments Off

seaside

One day my friend and I went to the seaside. First we had an ice-cream. Then we went swimming. After that we dug a hole in the sand and built a sandcastle over it. Then we went swimming again. We saw a dolphin and some seals.

We were having a picnic after that, when suddenly, the seals came up and started eating our picnic. My friend and I got angry and began to shoo them away.

Then we went swimming again. We saw more dolphins. We climbed up on their backs and went for a ride. It was the best day ever.

Domhan Eile. Scríofa ag Ben.Comments Off

hedgehog

Lá amháin, bhí mé ag spraoi sa ghairdín. Go tobann tháinig gráinneog isteach sa ghairdín. Thit an ghráinneog isteach i bpoll. Chuaigh mé chun seiceáil an raibh an ghráinneog ceart go leor. Ach thit mise isteach sa pholl freisin. Bhí mé i Domhan eile!

Bhí gráinneog ollmhór ansin agus gráinneog bheag freisin. Bhí mise níos lú ná gach gráineog. D'ól mé dúch a bhí fágtha ar an mbord.

Phioc an ghráinneog mé suas and go tobann, bhí mé ar ais sa ghairdín. "Go raibh maith agat a ghráinneog".

shark

One day Naoise and I went to the seaside. We went to have a swim. The water was getting deeper and deeper and deeper. Suddenly I saw a shark. I was scared. Suddenly he talked to me. He was a good shark. He gave me a ride through the water. I became a merman and I lived there forever. The end.

Scamall Draíochta

Scamall

La amháin bhí mé ag súgradh sa ghairdín. Chonaic mé  scamall ag teacht níos giorra go dti an talamh. Nuair a bhí sé síos in aice liom, shuigh mé ar. Chuaigh sé suas arís. Bhí eagla orm. Nuair a d’imigh sé thuas san aer, bhí talamh ansin agus ar an dtalamh sin bhí seaclaid, uachtair reoite, úll milis agus a lán rudai eile. Bhí an talamh déanta as seacláid, na soilse tráchta déanta as marshmallow. Bhí gach rud déanta as milsean. Bhí daoine déanta as milseán. Bhí pixies agus fairies ann freisin. Chonaic mé pixie, “Dia duit Niamh. Conas atá tú?”agus ansin d’imigh sé. Chuaigh mé go dti an siopa milseán. Bhí criospaí, brioscaí, gobstoppers le bubblegum, seacláid agus pops. Bhí duine ag an gcúntar. “Cad ba mhaith leat?” a chur sé ceist orm.  “Níl aon airgead agam” a d’fhreagair mé . “Airgead ha ha ha. Tá gach rud saor anseo”, a dúirt sé. “Ó” a dúirt mé.  Fuair mé bubble gum agus d’fhág mé an siopa. Chuaigh me chun foinse uisce a fheiceáil. Bhi 7suas ag teacht amach as. Bhí rímead orm. Bhí an áit seo go hiontach. Tháinig an scamall draíochta ar ais ansin chun mé a bhailiú. Chuaigh mé abhaile. Aon uair atá fonn orm dul ar ais suas go dtí Talamh na Milseáin, níl orm ach feadaíl.

I’d like to be a Hurley

          hurley

I’d like to be a hurley,

And stay at home all day,

And talk to other hurleys,

In a woody sort of way.

I'd love to be a hurley,

And lie in a little shed,

And always having pucks around,

Except when I’m in bed.

I’d like to be a hurley,

An O’Connor one perhaps,

And puck and hit around,

With woody sort of chaps.

I wouldn’t have to do a thing,

No homework ,jobs or chores.

Comfy in my little shed,

Full of hurleys and their snores.

I wouldn’t have to do a thing,

A life of bliss you see.

Except once in my whole life,

I’d win hurley of Tralee !!!!!!!!

The Cruise. By Kayleigh Ní DhonnchaComments Off

The Cruise

Cruise

One windy day I was on a cruise. The boat was really nice. It had a really fancy dining room. The beds were the comfiest beds in the world. The captain was really nice. I noticed this girl with a diamond necklace. It was glistening in the sun. She was going into her room.

I went into my room to go to sleep. I woke up by the sound of the girl with the diamond necklace screaming. I asked her ”What’s wrong” and she said “My diamond necklace is gone”.

I went around the room searching for it but could not seem to find it. I continued my search elsewhere. I went into a room and it was filled with jewellery. I was thinking that it must belong to people that could not pay for the king suite and who gave jewellery instead of money. So I left it there but out of the corner of my eye I saw the necklace .

I went to go and get it but as I grabbed it, someone grabbed me. I tried to get out of their clutches but I could not. He dropped me overboard and I swam to an island. I was terrified I would meet a shark on the way  but luckily I didn’t . All I had to eat was a cookie. I was thinking my Mam and my Dad would  notice I was gone, but what could  they  do? I was there for three days.

I dropped my cookie in the sea. So I had nothing  to eat but I didn’t like the look of what ate the cookie. It was a shark. I held on to the palm tree. I could still see the shark’s fin swimming  away.

On the third day a boat went by. I went crazy trying to get their attention. I was rocking the palm tree and jumping up and down. The captain saw me and let me on the boat.  But the captain on this boat worked  with the captain that threw me  off the other boat so I decided not to explore  the boat. I asked him to bring me to Holland  because my Mam and Dad were there. He was going to bring me to Holland but he got lost  on the way.

The captain gave me food. I had roast potatoes , chicken and gravy. I also had a drink of coke. For desert I had  a slice of triple chocolate cake. In the end I had a full stomach and I found my Mam and Dad . The girl found her necklace and the two captains went to jail. We also had a great holiday in Holland.

Nuair a bhíonn do pháistí ag sraotharnaigh, taispeáin dóibh conas a mbéil agus a sróin a chlúdach, ciarsúr a úsáid uair amháin agus é a chur sa bhosca brúscar agus a lámha a ní go minic le galúnach agus uisce.

Cuir paicéad ciarsúirí i bpócaí bhur bpáistí gach lá agus iarr orthu gan na criáin agus na pinn luaidhe a roinnt.

As we busily prepare for the beginning of a new school year here in Gaelscoil de hÍde on Tuesday 1/9/2009, the school has followed advice from the HSE and the Department of Education.

Please teach your child to cover their noses and mouths with a paper tissue when coughing and sneezing. Encourage your children to use a tissue only once and to dispose of it in a bin and wash their hands frequently with soap and water. Advise your children not to share pencils or crayons. Please ensure your child has a packet of paper tissues in school each day.

Eabha reporting on the CeolchoirmComments Off

Last night I went to the Hyde centre. I attended the school plays performed bu 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes.

I think my favourite one was the 2nd class one. They did Cinderella.

A girl called Eabha was the Cinderella in rags and a girl called Chloe was the beautiful Cinderella.

3rd class did Hotel Bethlehem. The main actor was Daniel He was great.

4th class did the x-factor but it was called the g-factor. Jack and Páraic did break dancing.

5th and 6th class did the Christmas story. It was good. My favourite part was when the angel got her wings.
