Feidhmíonn Cumann na dTuistí i gcomhairle leis an mBord Bainistíochta, na múinteoirí agus na páistí chun fís na scoile a chur i gcrích agus tugann sé cabhair agus tacaíocht dóibh chun a gcuspóirí a chur i ngníomh. Roghnaítear an coiste gach dara bhliain agus tá ionadaithe ann ó ghach rang. The Parents Association as a team, work in conjunction with the Board of Management, the teaching staff and the children to assist them in achieving their goals/ambitions and offer to them their continued help and support. The committee is selected once every two years and is made up of representatives from all classes.

Moltar do thuistí a bheith i láthair ag na cruinnithe mar cuirtear fáilte roimh thuairimí agus moltaí nua. The Parents Association hold regular meetings throughout the school year, prior to which parents receive an agenda and notification of the date/time/venue. Parents are encouraged to attend these meetings as all new suggestions and ideas are always welcomed.
Coiste na dTuistí at Gaelscoil de hÍde is affiliated to the National Parents Council Primary and has its own Constitution. Coiste na dTuistí works to promote the Irish language whenever possible. Coiste na dTuistí promotes the development of community spirit within the school family at Gaelscoil de hÍde by supporting and organising various events throughout the school year in which parents, children and teachers can participate. To date these events have included: Lá Gaeilge in Roscommon Library (Christmas, Seachtain na Gaeilge, Easter, Summer) Evening for new parents re curriculum, etc. Easter Parade entry Annual book fair Grandparents Day Cóisir Oíche Samhna First Communion Party Ceolchoirm na Nollag Lá Spórt agus Spraoi Seirbhís Carúl na Nollag Crannchur na Nollag New Enrolments evening Invited speakers Seachtain na Gaeilge entertainment Walk to school week The main fund-raising activities that Coiste na dTuistí manage during the year include: Crannchur na Nollag Annual church-gate collection Funds raised by the Coiste, with the help of all the school’s families, have been allocated to the events above and also: Annual subvention payment to the Department of Education and Science School computers Interactive white boards for all classrooms A new set of sports jerseys for the school School DVD Various school competitions, e.g. anti-bullying, etc. Transport for children participating in school activities Hand sanitisers installed in each classroom Flower boxes for front garden Front garden outside the front wall of the school Coffee morning for parents of new infants The Coiste has also managed to have the work on the pitch/green area beside the school undertaken so that in the future the children will have a safe and secure green space on which to play.
